Delete a Menu Item

Deleting an item removes it permanently. Use the availability toggle if you only want to hide it temporarily.

In short: Deleting a menu item removes it permanently and cannot be undone. To hide an item temporarily instead, uncheck Available in the edit form rather than deleting it.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you might want the item back — for example, a seasonal special — uncheck Available in the edit form instead. This hides the item from the public menu without deleting the data.

Open Restaurant Admin → Menu tab
From your org dashboard, go to Apps → Restaurant → Open, then click the Menu tab.
Find the item you want to remove
Browse the category sections or scroll to locate the item.
Click "Delete" on the item card
The Delete button is on the item card, next to the Edit button.
Confirm the deletion
A confirmation dialog appears asking you to confirm. Click OK (or Confirm) to proceed.
Item removed
The item is permanently removed from your menu and disappears from the public site immediately.

Alternative: hide without deleting

If you want to temporarily remove an item from the public menu — for example, a dish you're out of stock on — use the Edit form and uncheck the Available toggle. The item remains in your admin but is hidden from customers. You can re-enable it at any time.
