Troubleshooting
Common issues and how to fix them.
yoursubdomain.webs8.com, not webs8.com), confirming the Restaurant app is installed, and trying a private/incognito window to rule out cookie or session conflicts.
Check your URL. Tenant sign-in is on your subdomain — make sure you're visiting
yoursubdomain.webs8.com, not webs8.com. The platform login at
webs8.com is for your platform account, not your org admin.
Check your credentials. Your organization admin password may differ from your platform account password. If you've forgotten it, use the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page.
Try a private/incognito browser window. This rules out cookie or session conflicts that can prevent sign-in.
Install the app first. Go to yoursubdomain.webs8.com/org, click Apps, and install the Restaurant app. See the Install App guide for step-by-step instructions.
If it shows as already installed, click Retry in the error banner. If the error persists, try reloading the page or clearing your browser cache.
The public menu is live in real-time. There is no publish step — changes should appear immediately. If you don't see your update:
- Hard-refresh your browser: Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows/Linux, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac.
- Make sure you're viewing the correct subdomain URL.
- Check that the item is marked as Available — unavailable items are hidden from the public menu.
Print size matters. Download the PNG and print at a minimum of 3×3 cm (1.2×1.2 inches). Low-resolution prints or very small sizes may fail to scan with phone cameras.
Test with multiple apps. Try scanning with the built-in camera app and a dedicated QR scanner app to rule out app-specific issues.
Avoid laminate glare. If printing on a laminated surface, ensure adequate lighting when scanning — glare can prevent the camera from reading the code.
Check the file size. Images must be under 5 MB. If your file is larger, compress it using a tool like squoosh.app or your device's photo editor.
Check the format. JPEG (.jpg) and PNG (.png) formats are supported. Avoid HEIC, WebP, or RAW formats.
Try a different browser. If upload still fails, try uploading from Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Safari on older iOS versions can occasionally have issues with file uploads.
On the sign-in page (at your subdomain or webs8.com), click Forgot password. Enter your email address and you'll receive a reset link.
If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes:
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Make sure you entered the correct email address.
- Contact [email protected] if the problem continues.
